Medical Review Sub Team Lead (m / f / d) Austria & Switzerland

The role can be located in Zurich Switzerland or Vienna Austria.


About the role

The Medical Review Sub Team Lead AT&CH is responsible for leading strategic operational and expansion activities for the Austrian and Swiss Medical Review team. As an active thought leader and Medical Processes Partner this role will draw upon best practices to identify new ways of working and drive continuous improvement that generates value for medical colleagues.


Strategic Oversight

Subject Matter Expert and single point of contact for Medical Review to enable lightspeed deliverables for Promotional & Medical-to-Medical review objectives for Medical

Identify strategic opportunities for service and operations improvements that align with business priorities & building consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision making.

Gather and analyze metrics focused on MR utilization and performance; develop compelling and insightful strategic recommendations for leadership and the team.

Close partnership with CMAO categories and country / regional partners to drive active engagement with key Medical and Marketing stakeholders.

Demand management capabilities development and annual Op Plan exercise for the team

Leads process documentation and improvement as applicable.

Oversee resourcing of projects to ensure subject expertise and skills align with project requirements.

Provide strategy design and facilitation support for Marketing and Medical leads as required.


Stakeholder Management

Engages with category Medical and Marketing teams to ensure needs are met for both promotional and medical-to-medical materials.

Develops and sustains constructive continuous improvement focussed relationship with senior leadership and stakeholders.

Leads communication with different stakeholders and their departments for a coordinated structure of functions and workflow.


Feedback and metrics part of workflows

Provides training on both local and global requirements for direct reports and other stakeholders.


Service Expansion

Operationalize transformative initiatives : Inception of pilot activities of medical support services and drive them to business as usual with an enterprise mindset.

Processes and workflows developed building efficiencies and value add for the stakeholders.

Lead execution of opportunities against recommendations quickly and with flawless accuracy.

Lead cross-functional / country / regional projects and manage BAU transition.

Create operational processes and practices that drive efficiencies for the MRE and associated stakeholders.

Partner with transformational teams across the organization to support the design and deliver innovation within the CMAO platform.


Leadership and People Management

Enable and foster a culture of high organizational performance.

Recruit retain and develop a diverse world class team and foster a culture of excellence

Continuously coach and develop MR talent.


Local Responsibilities

Ensure compliance of the MR Teams with all applicable country law regulation SOPs and industry codes.

Works with the nominated cross functional team(s) in-country and above-country to develop / review / approve impactful and compliant promotional and non-promotional materials of value to healthcare professionals and patients (ca. 50% of working time).


About you


Education

Doctorate degree in life sciences Pharmacy or Medical Degree


Experience

Medical Affairs experience including experience of materials development / review is essential


Significant pharmaceutical industry experience

In-depth knowledge of Code review and certification requirements gained through relevant industry experience

Good understanding of the business and of commercial and medical roles

Collaboration evidenced by effective team working

Demonstrated leadership skills


Strategic thinking and demonstrated change agility

Experience in collaborating with cross-functional Global stakeholders and managing stringent timelines

The candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including : the ability to influence and collaborate with peers develop and coach others oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.


Preferred Qualifications

Strong strategic analytical and interpersonal skills


Experience of people management

Ability to work in a high-paced environment with strong decision-making skills and entrepreneurial mindset

Proven ability to understand requirements and impacts from both technical and business perspectives

Strong communication and interpersonal skills; fluency in in spoken and written German and English


Cross functional team management and leadership experience

Ability to work independently in a matrix environment with shown flexibility and organizational awareness

Ability to create & manage complex projects including budget management & fiscal awareness

Ability to aggregate and analyze data and draw conclusions based on the analyses.

Global experience in working with different markets that span various cultures languages and time zones

Proven track record of delivering business performance


Demonstrated history of leading innovation / transformation

Strong ability to drive collaboration and foster highly productive cross-functional relationships

Demonstrated agility and ability to drive program completion in expedited timelines

Extensive experience in content review.
