Lead Engineer – Mechanical
Vacature
About Us
Silicon Theatre Scenery BV (STS) is a leading producer of complete automation solutions for the global theatre and show industry. We operate at the forefront of the musical and theatre world and have proudly contributed to major productions such as Stranger Things, Frozen, Harry Potter, Back to the Future, The Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, Soldaat van Oranje, and many more.
At STS, we make the impossible possible. We bring design concepts to life, from flying helicopters and a freely moving DeLorean to Aladdin’s magic carpet. Our systems may remain invisible to the audience, but without our winches, turntables, lifts and custom control solutions, no performance comes to life. This is the technical craftsmanship we work on every day — in De Kwakel and at locations worldwide.
Responsibilities
As Lead Engineer – Mechanical, you will manage the engineering team and oversee project planning, quality and feasibility. You will move easily between office and workshop, ensuring that drawings align seamlessly with execution. You support management by substantiating technical decisions, optimizing processes and coordinating external partners. You work independently and accurately, remain sharp under pressure and think in solutions. With your technical insight and drive, you motivate the team to meet every deadline successfully.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate has a background in Mechanical Engineering and several years of experience in a similar role, preferably with leadership responsibilities. You are engaged, communicate effectively within a team and feel comfortable in an environment with a “the show must go on” mentality. You are fluent in Dutch, have a good command of English and hold a valid category B driving licence.
