Procurement Manager Role Overview
This role involves managing procurement processes from pre-qualification to order/contract commitment, ensuring compliance with quality assurance and management systems.
* A key aspect of the job is administering procurement tasks, including tendering, orders, contract negotiations, and reporting.
* Negotiating terms and conditions in line with contract forms is also a crucial responsibility.
* Collaboration with suppliers and contractors is necessary to ensure contracted work compliance.
Your Key Responsibilities
* To act as the primary point of contact for project-related procurement tasks, including internal and external reporting.
* Administer the procurement process from pre-qualification to order/contract commitment, ensuring compliance with BakerHicks' and client quality assurance and management systems.
* Negotiate and position BakerHicks and its clients in advantageous positions when procuring goods or services in an engineering and construction environment.
* Develop and negotiate terms and conditions in line with the form of contract.
* Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to ensure contracted compliance of their work, including deliveries.
* Effectively report progress to project managers and take ownership for the timely delivery of purchase orders and service contracts.
Your Profile
* You have completed commercial or technical apprenticeship with further education in purchasing/business administration.
* You possess minimum 10 years' experience as a procurement manager in the construction or related industries.
* At least 3 years' experience as a procurement manager in the Pharma/Life Sciences sector is preferred.
* You have strong knowledge of commonly used model forms of supply and construction contracts for the DACH region.
* You are highly proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel.
* You excel in communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate both internally and externally.
* You are a team player with a willingness to work extended hours when required to meet deadlines.
* You are fluent in written and spoken German and English.
