Your responsibilities
Indico is a web-based event management system used worldwide for conferences and meetings, enabling sharing of materials and collaboration. It is Open Source, developed at CERN by an international team, and is utilized by CERN, 200+ institutes, and organizations like the United Nations.
You will work on upcoming releases of Indico, focusing on enhancing conference interfaces and integrating with other Open Science platforms such as Zenodo.
As a core member of the development team, you will:
* Contribute actively to a large Open Source project on GitHub.
* Collaborate with developers to prototype and iterate solutions in an agile environment.
* Maintain code repositories, participate in code reviews, and testing.
Your profile
Skills include:
* Python, JavaScript, React, Git.
* Additional skills such as TypeScript, SQLAlchemy, Flask, PostgreSQL, GitHub, user interface & accessibility, Open Source project maintenance, DevOps, are considered pluses.
* Proficiency in spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the other language.
Eligibility criteria:
* Be a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
* Hold a degree in Software Engineering or IT, with either:
o Master's degree plus 2-6 years of experience, or
o PhD with up to 3 years of experience.
* Have not previously held a CERN fellow or graduate contract.

Contract duration: 24 months, possibly extendable to 36 months.
Working hours: 40 hours/week.
