R&D Laboratory Technician

Role
In this role you’ll be joining a research team in a state‑of‑the‑art innovation center noted for its dynamic entrepreneurial spirit. You will work with Senior Ink R&D Chemists/Scientists and technicians in the development, formulation, characterization and testing of prototype inkjet inks.
You’ll have an opportunity to work in a multicultural environment across the Markem‑Imaje organization, interacting with engineers and other specialists throughout the company to deliver high‑value integrated solutions. You will run cutting‑edge instrumentation and provide data and recommendations for the next steps based on the results.
Responsibilities
Develop inkjet ink formulation specifications/parameters in correlation with the technology and application challenges.
Design and independently execute standard product development and/or research methods, protocols, and procedures.
Operate printing equipment of varying complexity.
Work in a manner that is safe for yourself and coworkers; follow established company rules and regulations.
Maintain lab area and equipment in clean and safe conditions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or CFC with 5+ years experience in the formulation field (Paints, coatings, adhesives or preferred inks).
Must be analytical and have experience solving complex problems.
Understand the technology capabilities and limitations in the application scope.
Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Passionate about technology, strong technology culture.
Thoroughness, observation and organizational skills.
Team player.
Comfortable using standard computer software (MS‑Office).
Good knowledge of English, spoken and written; French is a plus. Excellent oral and written communication.
