Collaboration Services Manager (IT-CA-GES-2026-71-LD)
Contract: Limited duration contract (5 years) – may lead to an indefinite position.
Responsibilities
* Oversee Microsoft Exchange on‑premises and Exchange Online services, including maintenance and integration with CERN IT.
* Monitor service performance, reliability, SLAs and compliance with CERN policies and data protection.
* Investigate and troubleshoot operational issues and performance problems, collaborating with users, IT service managers and stakeholders.
* Configure, maintain and evolve CERN's email routing; oversee email authentication and reputation (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
* Collaborate with CERN Security Team to integrate spam and malware filtering solutions.
* Develop and maintain integrations with on‑premises and cloud systems (Python, C#).
* Provide user support, drive continuous improvement, curate knowledge bases, FAQs and service documentation, and deliver targeted communications.
* Participate in support rota for other section services as requested.
Qualifications & Experience
* Master's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
* Proven experience deploying and operating an email and groupware platform for over 10,000 users (Microsoft Exchange/Exchange Online, hybrid).
* Deep knowledge of communication technologies and protocols (Exchange architecture, AD/Entra ID, SMTP, POP, IMAP, routing connectors, mailbox storage).
* Experience engaging with large‑scale user communities and stakeholders.
* Strong background in scalability, security and reliability of services.
* Understanding of ICT security standards (DKIM, DMARC, SPF, anti‑spam, anti‑malware, anti‑phishing, encryption).
* Experience managing email authentication and reputation.
* Architecture and design of complex, resilient ICT systems (redundancy, storage).
* Experience with configuration management systems (Puppet, Ansible).
* Knowledge of database or data analytics technologies (SQL, ELK stack) – a plus.
* Programming skills for scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, C#).
* Spoken and written English; commitment to learning French.
