ROLE DESCRIPTION
* As Senior Analyst Maintenance Operation River, you will be part of the Technical Organization River (TOR), overseeing Maintenance & Repair Operations for Viking’s fleet of over 80 river ships.
* You will report to the Director of Technical Supply Chain & Planning and collaborate closely with the technical department leadership and other key stakeholders.
* This role involves managing technical aspects of our river fleet to enhance Viking River Cruises' performance and guest experience. You will lead large-scale projects to improve operational effectiveness, reduce costs, optimize warehouse utilization, minimize equipment downtime, and enhance our technical supply chain and procurement processes through software implementation and system improvements.
* You will develop analytical insights from in-depth analysis to support management decisions and drive business transformation, including periodic reporting to executives.
* The position is based in Basel, Switzerland, with travel as needed for business projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance Operations Analytics – KPI, Data, and Reporting
* Manage data-driven analyses and reports to identify growth opportunities and operational improvements.
* Monitor performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to foster continuous improvement.
* Analyze processes for inefficiencies, proposing improvements to enhance cost savings and agility.
* Develop and refine forecasting and feedback mechanisms for reliability and accuracy.
* Assist in developing and monitoring the Maintenance & Repair (M&R) budget.
Project Management and Leadership
* Lead projects with internal teams and stakeholders, setting standards and assessing risks.
* Build trusted partnerships with third-party resources and stakeholders.
* Serve as the primary contact for maintenance software implementation and support.
* Manage a team of at least two analysts.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
* Degree in a scientific, engineering, or related business field.
* Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; consultancy background preferred.
* Leadership experience.
Analytical and Project Skills
* Experience with software implementation, including requirements gathering, testing, and deployment.
* Proficiency in data processing tools like Power BI, Tableau, and SQL.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and recommend strategies.
* Advanced Excel skills; exposure to Tableau, SQL, Power BI, and AI-related software is advantageous.
