Job Description


Project Director

As our new Project Director, you will be planning, developing and delivering events and communication programs in the private sector in an international environment, offering the full range of event solutions.


Your mission


Leadership & Relationship Management

* Regular and frequent communication with clients to monitor client satisfaction
* Planning of operational roles within their event / project teams
* Maintaining good internal communication within the event / project teams
* Maintaining enthusiasm and professional standards within their event / project teams
* When appropriate, proposing the full range of event services to current and potential clients
* Representing and participating at selected industry events, exhibitions, social events
* Providing support to other parts of the SBU and other SBUs, as required, in the interest of the organization


Project Management

* Implementing and evaluating organization and staffing to effectively accomplish the goals and objectives of each event; managing professional/technical and support staff on both a professional and administrative basis
* Managing the project during the preparation phase and on‑site, leading the project
* Creative Design – follow up on content creation, design, storytelling, the flow and the creative technical production
* Day‑to‑day project management including all operational tools (TimeTracking, Success Factor, Health & Safety tools, etc.)
* Building, maintaining and evolving relationships with suppliers, negotiating best prices and deals, setting up credit agreements, raising purchase orders, attending supplier visits when appropriate
* Regular reporting on project operational progress to the client
* Responsible for the logistical part (retro‑planning, timeline, operational planning, quality, budget, resources)
* Providing support on Corporate offers with the Account Manager/Account Director if possible from the beginning of the project
* Cross‑selling opportunities
* Participating in event debriefings, gathering client feedback and market intelligence
* Reporting to the Director Events or Account Manager/Account Director regarding project and event objectives, budgets, resource planning
* Managing confirmed projects from A to Z
* Hands‑on management of projects: planning, budgeting, quality, client relationship, etc.


Financial Management

* Proper reconciliation (operational, financial) of all projects handled by the event / project teams
* Managing cash flow, payment terms, cancellation, added value and savings
* Ensuring profitability of the events and projects through accurate income and expenditure control


Administration and IT

* Articulating the business case and added value of internal tools and systems to external stakeholders
* Assessing and matching relevant information systems to better meet stakeholder needs
* Providing hands‑on training to technology tools users (TimeTracking, Success Factor, MS Office)
* Recommending adjustments to systems, forms, documents, procedures and policies to increase effectiveness
* Utilizing organizational systems (e.g. TimeTracking, SAP) at a super‑user level

The Project Manager reports primarily to the Project Director or Events Director in charge of the SBU, and also to an Account Manager/Account Director on specific projects.


Your profil

* A minimum of 8 years’ experience in the meetings industry demonstrating consistent progression in roles and responsibilities
* Fluency in French and English; additional languages strongly desired (German; Italian)
* Experience in planning, developing and delivering events and communication programs in the private sector in an international environment
* A proven track record of managing and motivating teams and delivering small‑ and large‑scale projects in a service environment
* Traveling on‑site inspections and accompanying events as required
* Possession of a valid driving license
* Leadership skills
* Good written and verbal communication
* Ability to make decisions, prioritize tasks, and remain calm under stress
* Problem‑solving skills
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
* Experience with management and operation of budgets / financial control
* Professional education in Event Management, Hotel Management, Tourism or another relevant domain
* Excellent personal presentation
* Good knowledge of computerized systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
