The successful candidate will report to both the Center's Director and the Spore-forming Bacteria Manager. This role involves facility management duties such as organizing waste, monitoring equipment, and resolving building issues, as well as working with spore-forming bacteria for extensive characterization, including cultivation, handling, and screening for beneficial effects using mammalian cells and microbiome models.
Your Responsibilities :
* Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment for proper operation and calibration.
* Address building issues, coordinate maintenance requests, and liaise with facility services.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Manage waste disposal according to safety and environmental standards.
* Keep records of facility activities and report to management.
* Apply microbiology techniques for bacteria characterization and enumeration.
* Perform mammalian cell culture, including media prep, contamination checks, cryopreservation, and cataloguing.
* Report results, propose solutions, and participate in data analysis.
* Maintain laboratory supplies and ensure efficient workflow, including equipment maintenance and pipette calibration.
* Follow SOPs and technical documentation relevant to BLS2 labs and company policies.
Your Profile :
* Bachelor's degree in microbiology, molecular biology, bioengineering, or related field.
* Over 5 years of experience in microbiology and molecular biology, preferably in industrial and BSL2 environments.
* Experience in facility management, including waste disposal and equipment maintenance.
* Strong documentation skills and effective communication abilities.
* Scientific rigor and attention to detail.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate in local and global teams.
