Job Description The position of Operational Risk Analyst sits within the Operational Risk function and focuses on strengthening the bank’s risk management and internal control framework globally. Acting as a key risk partner to the first line of defence, the position provides independent challenge and oversight on operational risks, ensuring that processes, systems and activities are managed in line with the bank’s risk appetite. Main responsibilities Oversee the effective and consistent implementation and maintenance of the risk and control management framework globally. Contribute to thematic risk and control assessments on a broad range of issues, including back and middle-office, funds, securities, payments, corporate actions, and order execution through collaboration with other stakeholders. Perform process-level walkthroughs and control testing to enable the identification and assessment of risks and controls. Proactively escalate and effectively communicate material control weaknesses, closely collaborate with key stakeholders in the relevant functions to define appropriate action plans and oversee their timely implementation. Provide expertise and make recommendations for improvements to steer adherence to internal regulations, regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Skills and experience Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a technical field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). At least 5 to 7 years of experience in the banking sector (ideally in Risk Control, Audit, or Business Risk Management), or in consulting/audit with a leading professional services firm; a combination of both is considered an advantage. Strong understanding of banking processes and systems, products, and related regulatory requirements. Expertise with core banking systems and Front systems is a plus. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Knowledge of German, French, or Italian is a plus. Proven ability to write reports and communicate effectively with a senior audience. Self-motivated, diligent, highly organized, able to prioritize and multi-task, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, able to work autonomously and as part of a global team.
