For one of our clients operating in the Energy trading sector, we are looking for an experienced and hands‑on Accountant / Trading Accountant to join their team in Geneva.
Your mission
* Act as the financial backbone of the company, leading end‑to‑end accounting for trading activities, including full bookkeeping, general ledger management, and ensuring robust financial controls. You will also remain closely involved in the operational side of bookkeeping (approx. 30% of your time)
* Prepare and analyze financial statements, management accounts, and trading P&L with accuracy and timeliness
* Support trading operations through reconciliations of physical and derivative transactions, mark‑to‑market checks, and P&L validation
* Serve as the primary contact for auditors, officers, and financial partners, ensuring credibility and professionalism in all interactions
* Provide financial insights and analysis to management, supporting informed decision‑making
* Contribute to process and systems improvements, helping structure and scale the finance function as the company grows
Your profile
* 3 to 10 years of experience in accounting, ideally within a commodity trading company or an audit firm with trading clients
* Strong knowledge of IFRS, Swiss GAAP, and international accounting standards, with a solid understanding of trade‑related accounting (derivatives, physicals, hedging)
* Fluent in English and French (spoken and written)
* Pragmatic, analytical, and detail‑oriented professional with a hands‑on approach
* Confident and credible in front of senior officers, auditors, and external partners
* A mid‑career professional, mature and adaptable, able to balance strategic oversight with operational execution and hands‑on work
* Comfortable working in a lean, entrepreneurial environment where versatility and initiative are key
* Driven by accountability and impact rather than hierarchy
