Job Description
This job refers to our Real Estate brands, and, the largest real estate portals in Switzerland, with more than 15 million visits per month and more than 100,000 listings. We provide all users looking for a property with a transparent overview of the entire range of listings without them having to tediously visit different platforms. In addition to great products such as the mortgage or price calculator, we also offer editorial articles on topics such as housing and financing.
We are looking for an Android Engineer who is passionate about mobile development and eager to work on high-quality Android application. As a key contributor to our mobile engineering team, you will focus on delivering clean, efficient, and reliable code, working closely with other engineers, designers, and product managers. This role is ideal for an engineer looking to deepen their Android expertise and contribute to complex projects in a supportive environment.

Your Mission:
2. Design, develop, and maintain Android applications, ensuring a high standard of performance, reliability, and user experience.
3. Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to define, design, and ship new features.
4. Lead architectural and design discussions, ensuring scalable and efficient application structure.
5. Implement best practices for coding standards, testing, and development workflows in Android development.
6. Optimize applications for maximum speed, performance, and security.
7. Conduct code reviews and promote knowledge-sharing practices.
8. Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from concept and design to unit testing, release, and post-launch support.
9. Actively contribute to improving team processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and communication.
10. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and tools in Android development and integrate new solutions as they fit our applications and workflow.

Qualifications
What will you bring to the ride?
11. Fluency in English written and verbal communication.
12. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
13. 4+ years of Android development experience with a strong grasp of Android SDK, Kotlin, Java, and Android Studio.
14. Deep understanding of UI/UX best practices for Android.
15. Proven experience with RESTful APIs and third-party libraries, along with experience working with databases and local storage.
16. Knowledge of reactive programming patterns and experience with libraries such as Kotlin Coroutines.
17. Familiarity with Android architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM, MVP) and a strong grasp of modular and clean architecture principles.
18. Experience with CI/CD practices, test automation, and performance profiling.
19. Experience with analytics and logging tools, such as Datadog, Firebase, or similar, to monitor app performance and user behavior.
20. Strong communication skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration in cross-functional teams.
21. Experience with Android Jetpack components and libraries, including Navigation, LiveData, and ViewModel.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
22. Knowledge of privacy and security best practices in Android application development.
23. Familiarity with cloud platforms and services such as AWS, GCP, or Firebase for app integration.
