Your tasks * Participate in detector developments for particle physics experiments at CERN and at PSI in close cooperation with other chip designers, physicists, students, and technicians * Contribute to the design of detectors and detector readout chips, with a primary focus on digital design, covering the full flow from behavioral modeling and RTL design to physical synthesis, timing analysis, optimization, and sign-off * Contribute to practical laboratory work, including electronics development, chip integration, testing, and characterization * Supervise an electronics apprentice in their 3rd or 4th year of vocational training, who will support you in your projects Your profile * Master in Electronics or Microelectronics Engineering or equivalent * Solid experience in digital ASIC design (e.g. Verilog, System Verilog or VHDL) * Knowledge of at least one scripting or data analysis languages (e.g. Python, MATLAB, -) * Openness to innovative, unconventional approaches and trying new things, as well as learning additional skills * Ability to work both independently and as part of a team * Good spoken and written English * Experience with characterization of integrated circuits, analog ASICs, FPGAs and PCB design would be a plus We offer Our institution is based on an interdisciplinary, innovative and dynamic collaboration.
