Position summary
We are looking for a Junior Operator to join our experienced and dynamic team in our European offices.
This role, which supports the European Supply Chain team in ensuring a smooth supply of methanol in direct connection with the contractual agreement between the buyers and sellers, is a critical part of our supply chain and logistics teams. The role-holder supports the company’s target objectives and values by ensuring cost-efficient logistics and supporting the end-to-end operation activities.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate an enthusiasm to learn and deepen their experience within the team, a driven and flexible working style, and good communication and organizational skills. Prior experience with or knowledge of traffic operations (e.g. as a traffic assistant) in commodity trading or supply chain is an advantage.
This role reports to the Supply Chain Lead for Europe. It’s a permanent and onsite role, with the option for an 80%-100% pensum.
Position responsibilities
* Demand planning with direct customers
* Inventory management of storage tanks
* Handling of deliveries out of storage tanks
* Invoicing to customers
* Documentation for month-end closure
* Interaction with the Shipping and Marketing & Sales department
* Maintaining relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
* Responsible for inputting and monitoring all incidents, non-conformances and corrective actions through to closure
* Various ad-hoc tasks as required by the team or stakeholders
* Assist and serve as back-up for other Supply Chain team members as needed
Education and professional experience
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in a relevant field such as business administration, commodities, supply chain or logistics
* Min. 6 months – 1 year of professional experience, ideally in the commodities sector
* Fluent written and verbal English skills (German skills are an advantage)
* Existing permission to live and work in Switzerland is a requirement for this role
