System Engineer (Workload Automation)
Location: Zurich
Start date: 05.01.2026
Duration: 12 months – with possibility of extension
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and further develop the job scheduling infrastructure using Broadcom AWA, AWI and Analytics, including planning and implementation of major lifecycle tasks and related infrastructure components.
* Drive the migration of custom-built software solutions (e.g., LDAP functions) to alternative products, and implement process automation, user role concepts, security concepts and roadmaps in a secure and scalable way.
* Handle problem management in close cooperation with software vendors, perform Level 3 support tasks, and coordinate activities with partner teams, including on‑duty 24/7 incident management every few weeks.
* Ensure robust, reliable and secure operations on Unix/Linux platforms by leveraging strong shell scripting skills and IT project experience to implement changes and improvements.
* Work diligently to very high-quality standards as an analytical thinker and experienced system engineer, applying a university-level computer science (or equivalent) education and hands‑on Broadcom AWA expertise.
Required Experience and Skills
* Experience with Broadcom AWA, high level of Unix/Linux know‑how and strong shell scripting skills, combined with proven IT project experience.
* University degree in computer science or equivalent vocational education, and several years of experience as a system engineer in complex environments.
* Strong analytical thinking, with a diligent, quality‑focused working style and the ability to independently plan and execute technical tasks.
* Clear, structured communication skills and reliability in coordinating with partner teams and external software suppliers.
* Willingness to participate in regular on‑call duty for 24/7 incident management and to take responsibility for critical workload automation infrastructure.
