Overview
Julius Baer is looking for a motivated and experienced legal counsel to join the Legal Digital & Contracts team. The role focuses on advising and negotiating procurement contracts and other contractual engagements, and includes legal support for technology, operational innovation and digitisation projects.
Responsibilities
* Negotiate commercial contracts with suppliers and providers, including SaaS agreements, EULAs, Master Service Agreements, Work Orders and Statements of Work for onshore and offshore delivery.
* Provide continuous legal support and legal risk assessments to the Procurement function throughout the contract lifecycle.
* Maintain and further develop standard agreements such as the MSA and the General Purchasing Conditions to provide a stable and sound contractual basis for the business.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in all contracts with suppliers and providers.
* Provide legal advice and support related to digitisation and legal‑tech aspects; prepare and conduct trainings on relevant legal topics.
Qualifications
* Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree; bar admission and/or additional relevant certifications are an advantage.
* At least five years of professional experience as a lawyer in a law firm or in‑house, with demonstrated expertise in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts in an international context, preferably in the financial industry.
* Profound knowledge of Swiss contract law, outsourcing, operational risks and resilience.
* Passion for technology, innovation and digitisation; willingness to continuously learn and expand knowledge in these areas.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across Procurement, IT, Information Security, HR, Business and Legal.
* Positive self‑starter with a can‑do attitude, analytical mindset and ability to design structured, tailored solutions.
* Excellent command of German and English, both written and spoken.
