Role
:
1. Work with technical and scientific teams to collect data and write technical descriptions of products or technologies, designs and specifications of inventions for new patent applications, prepare documents for patent filing
2. Assist and support inventors in identifying and defining inventions, and lead the preparation of patent application documents
3. Assist Scientists and Patent Counsels in the technical analysis of 3rd party prior art related to patentability, Freedom to Operate analysis or patents oppositions. Be the contact and liaison person between Scientists and Patent Attorneys.
4. Collect data and prepare technical description of technologies to be analyzed for third-party IP risk assessments or for patent oppositions
5. Operate competitors patent monitoring, analyze and present results to the internal technology stakeholders, identify patents/patent applications to watch and/or oppose
6. Carry out projects such as patent and prior art searches and analyses upon request from technical, marketing or business teams
7. Aim at taking on the responsibility of the team and leading them to achieve the goals
PROFILE :
8. PhD in Chemistry or Physical Chemistry
9. Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in industry, preferably in R&D
10. Experience with intellectual property (IP) tasks and patents search tools
11. Experience in people management
12. Broad technical knowledge, curiosity and openness to new ideas and technologies
13. Strong analytical skills and high attention to details
14. Excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact with Inventors and Patent Counsels, strong team spirit
15. Excellent organizational and planning skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects with tight deadlines, ability to work with multiple demanding internal customers
16. Demonstrated leadership and capacity to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
17. Proficient with usual IT tools such as MS Office
18. Fluent in French and English; excellent reading and understanding of German
