Group Consolidation controller
We are searching for an experienced Group Consolidation controller at our MSC Geneva facility.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
As aGroup Consolidation controller, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial consolidation process for our organization for external (audited financial statements, reporting to financial organizations, country-by-country reporting and etc.) and internal (management reporting) purposes. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial results for the group. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to gather, analyze, and interpret financial data and design and implement the improvement in reporting and consolidation processes.
YOUR IMPACT:
1. Produce consolidated financial statements (incl. cash flow statements, statement of equity, tax reconciliation) in accordance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS, SWISS CO), including the lead of the audit process;
2. Produce consolidated financial information for internal management reporting purposes, including the ad-hoc requests of non-standard reporting;
3. Analyze consolidated financial results, identify trends, variances, and anomalies, and provide insights to senior management to support decision-making;
4. Collaborate, define the needs and align reporting principles with group controlling team on monthly / YTD balance sheet, profit loss statement analysis;
5. Identify and look for opportunities to improve reporting process by unification of accounting principles within the organization;
6. Drive the development and maintenance of Group accounting principles to ensure the most efficient and automated consolidation process;
7. Maintain central consolidation adjustments on monthly basis, develop plans to assign the maintenance of the adjustment to local team and ensure the proper review / controlling process are implemented for review;
8. Define, maintain, and develop the Group’s chart of accounts including necessary adjustments due to new acquired businesses;
9. Set up, document, and update internal control procedures, escalate issues related to the consolidation process;
10. Ad hoc projects – common part of the assignments
Required Qualifications
11. Min 3 - 5 years’ of experience, ideally with audit background and with complex consolidation experience ideally within a multinational corporation with a well-regarded finance and accounting structure or a successful experience in external audit with an exper specialisation in consolidation of commercial/industrial companies.
12. Moto: “Hands on, get things done, roll-up the sleeves, push, drive, deliver”;
13. Advanced hands-on knowledge of technical consolidation process, systems and controls;
14. IT skills - Mastering of Excel is a must. Being experienced SAP FC is a significant plus;
15. Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards;
16. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data of activities, projects and plans. Strong attention to detail in order to deliver accuracy and quality, but also to be able to navigate back to high level overview;
17. Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities;
18. Effective communication and team skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization, ensuring timely reporting of dependencies for the final reporting;
19. Language Skills –Very Good knowledge of spoken and written English is a must.
