Director and Citizens Job Description As the Director with Citizens (DCRC) at the Vaud Cantonal Police (PCV), you lead and manage the activities of the Division, contribute to defining the PCV as a member, and develop the area of prevention. Furthermore, you manage internal and external communication and represent the PCV to the media (spokesperson). By joining the PCV, you contribute to a public service engaged in ensuring security and maintaining social cohesion. Responsibilities Lead and manage the DCRC’s activities while ensuring oversight and monitoring of activities. Anticipate and assess issues and challenges concerning prevention and the management of complaints and threats. Establish notes for the political level regarding the development of political priorities, development, or parliamentary items. Advise the PCV command and relevant management on their interactions with the media or in sensitive files by providing expertise in areas within your competence. Serve as the point of reference for the PCV service in crisis situations. Evaluate the impact of actions and identify areas for developing an internal structure for comprehensive prevention efforts and provide guidelines to different sectors working on prevention within the execution of the cantonal action plan for victim care— particularly in cases of domestic violence. Lead or actively participate in interdisciplinary working groups in areas relevant to your expertise. You will also find additional information on the activities of the Vaud Cantonal Police at: with a Master’s degree or equivalent in human sciences (political science, criminal sciences, social sciences, etc.) Having a qualification in public relations and systemically relevant training (SPRI, SAWI, etc.) and specialized training in crisis management (OFPP, MIKA, etc.) (preferred). Confirmed professional experience in institutional communication. Strong interpersonal skills, awareness and marked communication skills. Comfort in high-public visibility and media environments. Experience in the criminal justice chain (7 years). Experience in a management role (5 years). Good knowledge of the public Vaud (ACV). Very good knowledge of Swiss and Francophone institutions and media. Swiss citizen or holder of a C permit. Ensure permanent service and press duty response during the week, night, weekends and holidays.
