The Position
Digital health technology is transforming the way we develop personalized medicines for patients. Roche is dedicated to creating community- and regulator-accepted digital endpoints and digital outcomes that redefine the way we measure disease progression in clinical drug trials and make them accessible to Biopharma companies and the research community. We are looking for a data solution lead to co-create and drive the development and application of digital endpoints for multiple disease areas to accelerate the development of novel digital biomarker data insight products.
Job Mission
We, the Digital Biomarker (dBM) Global Area in Roche Information Solutions, are an integrated team of scientists, technologists, data analysts and operationalization experts, that leverages mobile technologies like smartphones and wearables to collect objective and continuous sensor data from patients in clinical trials.
We co-create innovative digital remote monitoring concepts for sensitive and meaningful drug development endpoints, implement them in technology solutions, develop health related outcome measures with the data, seek community- and regulatory acceptance of corresponding endpoints and offer them to Biopharma companies and research institutes for use in clinical trials.
Moreover, we are establishing the scientific foundations for disease monitoring and screening solutions in clinical practice.
Your impact
Acting as the data solution manager in the digital biomarker data insights subchapter you will:
1. In close collaboration with the dBM scientific solution lead and other stakeholders, co-develop data insights products around our digital health solutions, such as novel clinical trial endpoints
2. Lead data analysis related activities at the intersect of digital biomarker and established clinical data
3. Co-develop and execute data analysis plans around the clinical validation of digital features / scores derived from our digital health solutions
4. Be the interface to other internal and external data science teams working related topics and data
5. Deliver scientific support for customer interactions : Participate in customer calls and scientific advisory meetings / Provide Data Analysis support for customer questions/ Support development of material for sales collateral
6. Lead data analysis activities in matrix teams
7. Drive the understanding of the data analysis results by clinical development programs through the development of compelling narratives and presentations
8. Write manuscripts for peer-reviewed journal articles to establish the biological, clinical and patient relevance of data collected in novel digital biomarker approaches
Must Haves:
9. Very good university degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, natural science or informatics
10. 5+ year of hands-on experience in data science (optional: signal processing) on digital biomarker data preferably in the clinical trial space
11. Knowledge on validation analysis methodologies to establish psychometric properties of read-outs derived from DHTs
12. Methods for longitudinal analysis of read-outs derived from DHTs.
13. Experience in working in a goal-oriented manner with the customer in mind
14. Understanding of regulatory requirements for endpoint development with emphasis on digital health technologies
15. Strong experience with analyzing and visualizing large data sets
16. Track record of writing compelling publications in high impact, peer reviewed journals
17. Profound knowledge in Python, R or similar software packages/languages
