About The Job
Based at the Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern, within the Culinary department, the Commis de Cuisine Pâtisserie supports the pastry team in the preparation of pastries, desserts, and baked goods. They assist with basic tasks, maintain cleanliness, and help ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook high‑quality pastries, sweets and desserts.
* Collaborate directly with the pastry team to ensure smooth workflow during a shift.
* Assist with the set‑up and takedown of dessert buffets.
* Adhere to all policies and properly store all food and ingredients.
* Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with HACCP guidelines.
Qualifications
* Completion of pastry chef or cook training.
* Flexibility and ability to work under pressure – weekend and holiday shifts included.
* Good communication skills, teamwork, reliability.
* High level of commitment and quality awareness.
* Good English skills; additional foreign languages an advantage.
