As a key member of our Product Development team, you will provide insights and suggestions, share information, and deliver quality products on time and at the right cost for the intended performance use. Your work will be performed under general guidance and direction, which may require the initiation of contacts to resolve and discuss mutual problems or collaboration on procedures or transactions. Infrequent overseas development travel may be necessary. /ph3Responsibilities /h3ulliDevelop product across multiple genders by product category depending on the seasonal style count and expertise. /liliParticipate meetings and execute against product expectations for product quality, cost (predictive costing). /liliOwn product specifications, measurements, BOM, fit creations and maintenance. /liliCommunicate effectively and clearly with Asia sourcing vendors, TD/GPC/GSP. /liliCollaborate with design merch to support the line plan through product execution and signing of bulk production. /liliHit required product creation milestones and execute on strategy. /liliWork with the Global Product costing team in VFA and internal merch/design teams on seasonal FOBs to support gross margin growth. /liliBe an engaged and committed team‑mate and facilitator in negotiations. /li /ulh3Skills for Success /h3ulliThe ability to work with cross‑functional teams, including Consumer Research, Research and Development to compile and evaluate research on future product requirements and identify enhancements to current products. /liliThe aptitude to help the Product Development team establish strategies ranging from product pricing, design, marketing, advertising, packaging, and future products to manage the product family’s life. /liliAn understanding and knowledge of Timberland’s principles, practices, and procedures. /liliThe resourcefulness to determine a course of action based on guidelines and modify processes and methods as required. /liliThe capability to resolve issues which are often varied and non‑routine. /liliApply previous experience to identify the most appropriate option or improve existing approaches. /liliSeek clarification when needed. /liliUndertake analysis and investigation to solve differing, but related, problems. /liliThe talent to convey complex information to occasionally divergent audiences that may require some persuasion, even when audiences are not knowledgeable of the subject matter. /liliAn objective review of difficult work problems, obtaining cooperation or approval. /li /ulh3Qualifications /h3pFormal education in a related field is appreciated but not required.
