As a first-tier supplier to our renowned business partner F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd. in Basel, we are currently looking for a motivated and dedicated Data Scientist for a temporary assignment of 12 months.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Maintain Data Integration Tools: Manage and troubleshoot our existing data integration pipelines that feed our AI models, ensuring data quality and availability
Support AI Development: Collaborate with the R&D team to support the ongoing training, validation, and optimization of machine learning and AI models
Data Analysis & Reporting: Perform data analysis to extract insights, support research questions, and provide clear reports to the team
Troubleshoot & Problem-Solve: Address technical challenges related to data access, software limitations, and model performance
Ensure Project Continuity: Work closely with the existing team to ensure all project timelines and deliverables are met during the contract period
Documentation: Maintain clear and concise documentation of processes and any modifications made to existing systems
Must-Haves
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
3-5+ years of hands‑on experience in a data science or data analytics role
Strong proficiency in Python and its scientific computing libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn)
Experience with SQL and working with relational databases
Familiarity with the principles of ETL and experience with data pipeline management
A foundational understanding of machine learning concepts and models
Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a technical team
Familiarity with FAIR data principles
Experience with Image analysis techniques
