Role overview
The Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer reports directly to the Automation Technical Lead. The role involves providing hands-on support for the commissioning and qualification of Utility and HVAC Systems at the Lonza Stein site.
The I&C Engineer will also manage the Hot Loop Testing Team, ensuring effective support and execution of testing protocols.
Responsibilities
* Support commissioning and qualification of utility and process systems monitored by DeltaV DCS, including:
o Utility generation, storage, and distribution systems
o HVAC systems for classified and non-classified areas
o Compounding and SIP/CIP systems
* Review and support execution of Hot Loop Test protocols, including:
o Remote IO communication testing
o Field instrumentation testing
o Interface testing between package units
o Alarm and Interlock testing
o Emergency Stop verification
* Support network commissioning for:
o Variable Speed Drives
o Remote IO Controllers
o Package Units
* Assist the Hot Loop Testing Supervisor in daily management and support of the testing contractor.
Candidate profile
* Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Electrical, Instrumentation, Process Control, or related field
* 5-10 years of industrial commissioning experience, including 3 years in utility systems
* Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
* Experience with Kneat for CQV testing
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* Knowledge of cGMP and regulatory requirements
