We are actively seeking a dynamic and proactive LEGAL COUNSEL to play a central role in VBW contracting processes and legal infrastructure, while working closely with and under the supervision of senior legal leadership on commercial and strategic matters across the sport industry and ecosystem. The role positions at the intersection of legal operations, commercial contracting, and business enablement, supporting the organization’s growth through scalable processes and high‑quality legal services.

The role offers exposure to a broad range of legal topics within an international sports organization, with opportunities to progressively take on more complex matters over time.

Responsibilities


Contract Management

* Own and oversee contract management processes through VW adopted CLM platform (Juro) including intake, workflows, execution, storage, and tracking, with a focus on improving business self‑service, visibility and decision‑making, and turnaround times.
* Play a key role in developing scalable and self‑serve contracting models for the business.
* Maintain and continuously improve legal templates, standard clauses, and playbooks.
* Partner with Data and Controlling teams to ensure contract data integrity, visibility, and reporting to top management and leadership, using CLM data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and risk patterns.
* Draft and review standard agreements, e.g. NDAs, MSAs, vendor and other commercial agreements.
* Support the business in contracting and managing freelancers, contractors and suppliers, working closely with the Finance and Accounting Team.
* Monitor renewals and compliance, identifying efficiencies and potential risks.
* Flag and escalation non‑standard or higher‑risk matters appropriately.


Business Partnering and Department Support

* Act as first point of contact for generalist legal requests, helping improve turnaround times and consistency of legal support, and ensuring timely escalations where appropriate.
* Deliver company‑wide practical trainings and workshops to raise legal awareness, transforming complex concepts into accessible, engaging, and practical information.
* Support senior legal leadership with first‑pass review, legal research, risk structuring and external.


Compliance & Governance Support

* Support day‑to‑day compliance activities and internal governance processes.
* Assist with policy implementation, tracking, and documentation.
* Coordinate with internal stakeholders on compliance‑related matters.

Qualifications & Skills

* Master’s degree in Law (LL.M.). Bar admission is an advantage.
* 2–3 years professional experience, preferably in an international in‑house legal function.
* Exposure to sports, media, entertainment, or digital businesses.
* Strong analytic mindset and solutions‑oriented approach.
* Comfortable working with contract management systems and legal tech (or keen to learn).
* Clear and confident communicator with non‑legal stakeholders.
* Excellent business acumen with a strategic mindset.
* Ability to independently prioritize and meet deadlines.
* Curious, proactive, and comfortable operating in a growing organization.
* Team player with empathy and strong relationship‑building skills.

* Proficiency in English (written and verbal); additional languages are an advantage.
* Experience in the sports industry is a plus but not required.
* Swiss citizenship or possession of a valid Swiss work permit.
