For our client, a dynamic international biotechnology company focused on clinical-stage development, and currently expanding their global portfolio and accelerating growth outside of China, we recruit a:
(Senior/Executive Director) Head of Business Development, Ex-China
Responsibilities
* Shaping and implementing our client’s ex-China business development strategy, ensuring alignment with their overarching long-term objectives.
* Identifying, meticulously evaluating, and actively pursuing strategic opportunities, including licensing agreements and collaborations, to broaden their global portfolio.
* Spearheading the comprehensive execution of deals, from the initial outreach to successful closure, in close collaboration with internal stakeholders.
* Nurturing and maintaining robust relationships with pivotal industry partners, esteemed academic institutions, and influential investors worldwide.
* Working synergistically with the R&D, Clinical, Finance, and Alliance teams to guarantee the seamless integration of new partnerships.
* Vigilantly monitoring global market trends and the competitive arena to inform strategic decision-making.
* Representing our client at key industry forums and events to amplify their presence and cultivate new alliances.
* Presenting persuasive business cases and strategic recommendations to the senior leadership team.
Background
* An advanced degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related discipline (PhD, MBA, or equivalent is highly preferred).
* A minimum of 10 years of dedicated experience in business development, licensing, or strategic partnerships within the biopharmaceutical sector.
* A demonstrable history of successfully negotiating and finalizing complex partnership agreements.
* A profound understanding of drug discovery, development, regulatory pathways, and commercialization processes across key global markets.
* Strong financial acumen, including experience with valuation modeling and due diligence processes.
* Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
* Strategic foresight bolstered by robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
* Fluency in English; proficiency in German or French is a significant asset.
* A readiness to travel as necessary to foster key relationships and explore emerging opportunities.
