Salary:
Range ($18.37/HR - $22.44/HR) Salary placement on our classified salary schedule is dependent on the employee's education and/or work experience. Non-licensed employees will be granted one (1) year for each full year of work experience and/or educational attainment up to a maximum of ten (10) years. Responsibility for verification of outside experience shall rest with the individual employee. JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
This position is responsible for the safe preparation of meals. Along with kitchen management and ensuring all county, state and federal guidelines are being met.
Essential Functions and Characteristics
* Supervise all kitchen employees, adults and/or student helpers.
* Help plan menus and have sufficient amounts of food on hand.
* The Manager will on a daily basis complete production sheet on all foodstuffs, government and otherwise, used in preparation of the meal for that day. You will need to give this information to the Food Services Director.
* On a monthly basis, submit to the Food Services Director an inventory of freezer and storage areas.
* Assume responsibility for cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen and storage areas.
* Responsible for getting a substitute for staff absences.
* Be responsible for the daily opening, closing and locking of the kitchen.
* Be responsible to the Food Services Director for carrying out all school lunch policies.
* Report any accident, break in, losses or missing items immediately.
* Report any problem connected with the lunch program involving the school, teachers or students to the Principal and Food Service Director.
* Hold all keys to the kitchen and related areas and give only to authorized personnel as needed.
* Should be sensitive to likes and dislikes of children, plan menus cooperatively with the Food Services Director that provide wholesome meals and prepare meals that will result in minimal waste and at a cost consistent with district resources.
* Keep abreast of all State and National school lunch regulations.
* Attend such state and regional meetings as may be deemed appropriate to the District.
* Comply with board policy.
* Lifting requirement of a minimum of 50 lbs.
* Compile food orders and give them to the director in a timely fashion. These are weekly and for each rotation .
* Perform all other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director.
