About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Senior Engineering Leader. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proven track record of success in engineering management.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and specialists, overseeing all aspects of engineering, maintenance, and calibration of assigned assets and systems. Key responsibilities include:
* Leading a team of engineers and specialists, providing guidance on human resource management, qualification, development, coaching, hiring, pay decisions, and discipline issues.
* Responsible for resource and vacation planning, ensuring timely fulfillment of production orders.
* Controlling costs, identifying and implementing cost reduction measures.
* Maintaining open communication with upper management levels, the team, and other stakeholders through regular meetings and issue escalation.
* Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, openness to change, and cooperative teamwork within the organization.
* Implementing maintenance strategies, standards, and concepts across the Lonza Visp site, ensuring optimal plant availability while considering cost-effectiveness.
* Initiating, preparing, and managing feasibility studies, projects, and investments.
* Overseeing all aspects of engineering, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and user access administration for assigned assets and systems.
* Ensuring compliance with cGMP and safety regulations, maintaining qualification status of production plants, and supporting the production manager in engineering and maintenance topics.
* Continuously improving internal processes and innovation.
* Representing EI&C qualification and calibration during inspections by authorities and customer audits.
* Adhering to technical directives and laws (Lonza Standards, SVTI, ATEX, and machinery directive).
* Managing interfaces with Manufacturing, Plant Engineering, QA, and QC.
* Supporting GMP and Safety risk assessments and introducing expertise into these analyses.
* Functional responsibility as a specialist/expert for assigned topics and membership in the knowledge management team.
* Representing the Advanced Synthesis BioConjugates Plant Engineering Leadership Team for all aspects related to his area.
