Monitoring and Evaluation Lead, Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation

Note: This is a maternity cover position, expected from October 2025 to July 2026, based in Geneva.
The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the International Organisation for Public-Private Cooperation. It engages political, business, and societal leaders to shape global, regional, and industry agendas.
In collaboration with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), and Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the Forum leads the Global Alliance for Trade Facilitation, a global initiative that unites governments and businesses to implement trade reforms.
Reporting lines and interactions:
The role is based in Geneva within the Global Alliance team, reporting to the Deputy Director. Internally, you will work with colleagues across the Forum and other partners; externally, with stakeholders including partner organizations, private sector, donors, universities, and NGOs.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Effective monitoring and evaluation are essential for tracking progress, documenting results, lessons learned, and guiding future activities. The Lead will develop accountability tools and provide data to inform decisions.
Key functions include:
1. Develop and manage monitoring plans and tools:
* Update and manage the results framework using Qualtrics, Airtable, and R; communicate with stakeholders.
* Lead responses to donor data requests, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
* Process and analyze data on indicators, including cleaning, summarizing, and applying statistical techniques.
* Assist project teams with M&E components in proposals and implementation, including Theory of Change and logframes.
* Design and implement surveys, manage data collection, and oversee quarterly reporting.
* Document lessons learned and best practices, ensuring accessibility and integration into future projects.
1. Develop the evaluation function:
* Implement evaluation plans and reporting to measure impact and support decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Advanced degree in economics, social sciences, statistics, or related fields.
* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in trade facilitation or international development.
* Proficiency in R/RStudio; experience with Airtable and Tableau is a plus.
* Strong knowledge of evaluation methods, theories of change, and logic models.
* Experience with mixed methods research and data collection techniques.
* Fluent in English, with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
