About the Company: ANAVIA specializes in the design, development & manufacturing of vertical takeoff & landing (VTOL) systems of up to 500 kilograms. Qualifications •\tEducation: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. Master's degree or advanced degree preferred. •\tExperience: hands-on experience programming for microcontrollers in real-time embedded environments. Preferably in the aviation, space, or autonomous systems industry. •\tSafety-Critical Systems: familiarity with DO-178C or equivalent safety-critical software development standards. Experience supporting or leading software certification activities is a strong plus. •\tProgramming & Software Development: expert-level proficiency in C for embedded real-time systems. Strong understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS). Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) for test automation and tooling. •\tProtocols: deep knowledge of embedded communication protocols: CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Serial. Experience with network protocols (Ethernet, UDP/TCP) in embedded contexts. •\tCommunication: Very good technical communication skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to cross-functional teams. •\tLanguage: excellent language skills in English (oral and written). Key Responsibilities •\tControl Software: design and implement mission-critical low-level control software for UAV components, ensuring deterministic real-time performance. •\tCommunication Systems: develop and maintain communication protocols ensuring all UAV components communicate safely and reliably. •\tReal-Time Performance: optimize software performance for real-time operating systems where timing constraints are critical to flight safety and vehicle behavior. •\tTesting Framework: implement comprehensive test strategies at all levels (unit, integration, system) to thoroughly verify functionality, performance, and safety requirements. •\tStandards Compliance: develop software in accordance with DO-178C (or equivalent safety-critical software standards) and support certification activities throughout the development lifecycle. •\tCode Reviews: lead and participate in design and code reviews to ensure software quality and adherence to coding standards. •\tSystem Architecture: contribute to system-level software architecture decisions, requirements definition. •\tRapid Prototyping: support rapid prototyping activities alongside production development to validate concepts and iterate quickly. •\tProcess Enhancement: incorporate industry best practices into development workflows, including modern CI/CD practices and automated testing strategies. Competencies & Duties •\tCross-Functional Collaboration: work closely with flight control, hardware, test bench, and design engineering teams to integrate, debug, and optimize embedded systems. •\tFull Lifecycle Ownership: take end-to-end responsibility from requirements definition through implementation, integration, validation, and transition to production. •\tCompliance according to ANAVIA’s employment contract, compliance with company’ safety instructions and employee’ safety requirements, compliance with ANAVIA’s quality manual, work instructions and corresponding process specifications and instructions. •\tInternational travel required of up to 25% of employee’ working hours.
