This specialized role requires structural engineering, compliance verification, and review of mass timber and timber‑hybrid structures destined for the United States market, as well as guiding European partners expanding into North America. This role is based in Bern, Switzerland. /p pbStart Date: /b August 1, 2026 /p h3A BIT ABOUT THE PERSON WHO WILL EXCEL IN THIS ROLE: /h3 pWe are looking for someone with project and technical experience with all major materials, who is familiar with US building practices, permitting, and industry standards. /p h3WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: /h3 ul liPerform detailed structural design under the mentorship of the principal‑in‑charge and/or senior engineers. /li liParticipate in delivering medium to large‑sized projects, throughout all design and construction phases. /li liAct as project manager for small to medium‑sized projects, throughout all design and construction phases. /li liBe involved in ongoing communication and coordination with other design consultants, contractors, and suppliers. /li liHave sound knowledge of US codes and standards – IBC, ASCE 7, NDS, AISC 303, ACI 318 and associated seismic design requirements. /li liDeliver project deliverables on time and on budget. /li liBuild positive relationships with clients and help promote our core values. /li liContribute to the team’s technical knowledge resources. /li liBe creative and innovative in problem‑solving. /li liAct as a role model and technical mentor to junior engineers and BIM technicians. /li liWork with a team that is passionate, focused, and dedicated in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment. /li liContribute to a fun and welcoming work environment. /li /ul h3WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED: /h3 ul liA Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, with a minimum of 5+ years of local or international experience designing buildings in the residential, commercial, municipal, and institutional sectors. /li liYou must be a P.E. ideally registered in CA, OR or WA or eligible for accreditation within 6 months of your start date. /li liAbility to work autonomously in a team‑oriented environment. /li liStrong communication skills, both written and verbal. /li liAbility to use programs such as RFEM, S‑Concrete, Sizer, or other similar structural analysis software. /li /ul h3EXTRA AWESOME: /h3 ul liWell‑rounded knowledge and experience designing with timber, steel, and concrete is an asset. /li liUnderstanding and experience with seismic analysis and design. /li liSuitable experience in commercial, residential, and/or institutional projects. /li liMaster’s degree in structural engineering. /li liWorking knowledge of performance‑based design under the American codes and standards. /li /ul h3A BIT MORE INFORMATION ABOUT ASPECT: /h3 pASPECT Structural Engineers is a globally acclaimed, full‑service structural engineering firm and mass timber consultancy that made it to "Canada’s Top Small Medium Employers” list in 2024, 2025, and 2026 by Mediacorp Canada Inc.
