Overview The opportunity is part of our global R&D community, supporting all factories in the PG Dry, Traction and Distribution Transformers on innovative and challenging research projects. You will focus on developing new technologies and products, optimizing existing ones, and supporting different engineering offices around the world.
How you'll make an impact Study of current state of art in the field of 2D and 3D simulation of transformers
Analysis of performance of different parameters of dry transformers by means of 2D and 3D electromagnetic FEM calculations
Develop new automations for the assessment of products through electromagnetic simulations coupled with structural, thermomechanical and acoustic simulations
Run feasibility studies, develop new technical concepts, design new products and simulate their expected performances
Organize prototyping and testing activities to validate new technologies/products
Lead product and technology development projects in the field of Dry, Traction and Oil Distribution Transformer, delivering results on time and on budget at agreed scope and quality
Support the transfer of technology and knowledge from R&D to engineering department by writing design rules, preparing trainings and collaborating with design tools team
Provide technical support to other departments when needed (engineering, product management, marketing and sales etc.)

Your background MSc in Electrical Engineering field
Existing work experience in Electrical Engineering with particular focus on transformer design
Advanced knowledge of transformer design and prediction of relevant performance such as leakage fields, stray losses, no-load losses, short-circuit forces, mutual inductances, and similar
Experience in finite element analysis and in the use of at least one of the following software: ANSYS Maxwell
Knowledge of at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Matlab, C#
Experience in electric testing of transformers
Project management skills
Innovation spirit, "out of the box" thinking
Willingness to travel
Fluent in English
