Biognosys AG is part of the Biognosys Group that brings together the Bruker Corporation affiliates Biognosys, biocrates, and PreOmics to deliver integrated solutions across proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics. The Group enables seamlessly connected mass spectrometry workflows, making advanced multiomics technologies accessible to laboratories worldwide. Its ecosystem spans high quality consumables, software, and contract research services. Committed to a vendor neutral approach, the Biognosys Group supports open collaboration and broad compatibility across leading mass spectrometry platforms. All solutions are modular by design, allowing customers to choose the level of support that best fits their needs, from ready to use kits and software to guided implementation, or fully integrated end to end CRO services.
THE OPPORTUNITY
(Senior) Scientist R&D, 100%
LC MS proteomics is at the core of Biognosys’ innovation and operations. As a (Senior) Scientist R&D, you will play a key role in the development, optimization, and application of proteomics assays by focusing on sample preparation and the derivation of targeted PRM/SRM or untargeted discovery DIA LC-MS methods. You will be responsible for developing biomarker assay technologies in compliance with regulatory guidelines. This includes critically assessing performance, robustness, and suitability of proteomic assays for translational and clinical research. Working in an interdisciplinary R&D team, you will design, execute, and evaluate proteomics experiments, integrating new chromatographic approaches, instrumentation, and data analysis strategies. Clear scientific communication, independent data analysis, and effective visualization of results are essential for success in this role.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Development, optimization, and qualification of liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC MS) proteomics workflows (PRM, SRM, DIA)
Evaluation and integration of new technologies including sample preparation, hardware and cutting-edge methods
Contribution to LC-MS based protein biomarker assay validation in compliance with regulatory guidelines (i.e. ICH M10) and clinical use in context of regulated studies
In depth analysis, interpretation, and visualization of quantitative proteomics data
Operation and routine maintenance of high resolution mass spectrometers
Act as technical lead for workflow development, troubleshooting, and SOP authoring
Presentation of results and methods to internal teams, management, and external partners and conferences
YOUR PROFILE
Degree in biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology, proteomics, or a bioanalytical field
Master’s or PhD with strong practical experience in proteomics
Hands‑on expertise in targeted proteomics (i.e. state of the art PRM, targeted DIA)
In depth understanding of bioanalytical method validation (BMV) guidelines and their application to the development of innovative assay technologies
Industry experience
Familiarity with targeted proteomics software tools such as SpectroDive, Skyline
Strong data analysis, interpretation, and visualization skills, ideally using R
Independent, curious, and quality‑driven mindset with the ability to see the big picture and collaborate in cross‑functional matrix teams
Willingness to take ownership and responsibility for scientific work
Excellent written and spoken English
