R&D associate structural engineer for Global Multi-physic Simulation Team 80 - 100% (f/m/d)
Join to apply for the role at Hitachi Energy. You will be part of Hitachi Energy’s Global Multi-Physics Simulation (GLOMUS) network in the Technology Center, working with teams across electrical, structural, acoustic, thermo-mechanical, and fluid-dynamics analyses, simulation and testing. You will support factories in the PG Dry, Traction and Distribution Transformers on innovative and challenging research projects, develop new technologies and products, optimize existing ones, and support engineering offices worldwide.
Responsibilities
* Finite Element simulation of structures subject to static and dynamic loads (fatigue, impulsive, seismic, etc.).
* Develop new automations for structural, thermomechanical and acoustic assessments of products.
* Run feasibility studies, develop technical concepts, design new products and simulate expected performances.
* Organize prototyping and testing activities to validate new technologies/products.
* Support transfer of technology and knowledge from R&D to engineering by writing design rules, preparing trainings, and collaborating with design tools.
* Provide technical support to other departments when needed (engineering, product management, marketing and sales).

Your background
* PhD or MSc in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
* Knowledge of Matlab.
* Knowledge of materials properties and performance under different environmental conditions.
* Action- and result-oriented mindset.
* Innovation spirit and out-of-the-box thinking.
* Excellent communication skills and team spirit.
* Willingness to travel.
* Fluent in English.
