We are looking for a Chef de Rang to join Colonnade team in Mandarin Oriental Palace Luzern!
The legendary Hotel Palace Luzern first opened in 1906 and is in the city on the shores of Lake Lucerne. After a complete renovation, the Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern reopened its doors in September 2022. It comprises 136 rooms and suites offering excellent views over the lake and mountains. Three restaurants, one bar together with a variety of meeting facilities, a Spa and a fitness room round up our offer for our Guests.
Being awarded with one Michelin star only five months after opening, Colonnade showcases modern French cuisine. In 2024, Colonnade has been also awarded with 17 Gault Millau points.
As Chef de Rang you will be responsible for the following tasks:
* Professional advice and customer care for our guests
* Professional serving of food and drinks
* Excellent product and sales knowledge
* Ensuring smooth work processes at your own station, while complying with our quality standards
* Preparing the required Mise en Place
* Supporting the restaurant management in their daily tasks
* Booking all transactions in the cash register system and carrying out correct cash accounting
* Assisting in the preparation and implementation of special events
* Complying with hygiene regulations and cleanliness within the framework of the HACCP guidelines
As Chef de Rang, we are looking for:
* A completed vocational training in the upscale hotel industry or gastronomy. Ideally 2-3 years of professional experience in a comparable position.
* Good IT skills, knowledge of the Infrasys cash register system and the SevenRooms booking system would be an advantage
* Communicative skills - guests will contact you with complaints as well as positive feedback
* High level of commitment as well as a structured, results-oriented and independent way of working
* High quality awareness
* Engaging communication and expression skills, open-mindedness as well as teamwork skills
* Flexibility and resilience - your position includes weekend and holiday shifts
* Excellent manners and well-groomed appearance, as well as a positive charisma
* Very good knowledge of German and English. Further foreign language skills are an advantage
