A globally operating company in the sports retail sector, with a location in the heart of Zurich, is seeking a motivated and experienced (Junior) Buyer (m/f/d). In this role, you will support value creation and profitability across multiple European markets by contributing to supplier tenders and assisting with international commercial initiatives.
Job Description
* Provides hands‑on assistance to purchasing professionals and liaises with regional teams and vendors.
* Supports procurement cycles from initial vendor search and agreement signing to tender documentation, contract finalization, and reporting.
* Facilitates communication across the network and organizing calls and team sessions.
* Handles administrative responsibilities such as document management and sample tracking.
* Participates in regular team syncs to ensure priority alignment.
The Successful Applicant
In order to be considered for the role, the selected candidate must have:
* Successfully completed academic background or a commercial degree
* At least 2-3 years of experience in similar function, ideally as an operative buyer within the consumer goods or retail industry.
* Previous experience in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment.
* Proficient user in MS Office, as well as internal CRM and ERP systems.
* Solid English skills are required.
* Strong communication skills for effectively interacting with professionals at all levels.
* Demonstrates a positive attitude and resilience while effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously.
* Willingness to travel (approximately 10‑20%).
