Scope Of The Role
The objective of the CX (Commissioning) Manager is to manage the Cx/QA process and validate/document that the delivery team fulfils the functional and performance requirements of the Owner, Occupants, and Operators, in accordance with the Employer's Requirements. Complete understanding of the contract documents (Employers Requirements) is the foundation for validating external information/Data/Technical Submission etc.
Key Responsibilities Of The Role
* Active participation in development of the Cx related activities logic and sequencing within Project schedule and Programme. Close coordination with all facets of the Project Team is expected to ensure that all stakeholders (both external & internal) requirements and needs are considered, with cognisance of the contract documentation. Lookahead, breakout and group workshop planning are essential activities that the Cx Manager shall manage/facilitate to ensure that full control on the deliverable is maintained. Reporting logic and detail shall be tailored to the project, however at a minimum, the Cx Manager shall develop and maintain a control file that measures agreed on KPI’s at regular intervals. KPI’s to be approved by the Project Director.
* Undertake a review of the initial and IFC Design package and produce a report of the with respect to risk and opportunity that presents. Constructability and Commissioning review and planning is essential to ensuring that the deliverable can be sequenced and delivered in the period required with ZERO defects.
* Shall establish and manage appropriate daily & weekly coordination meetings to meet both the remit of the contract and as appropriate, such as but not limited to:
* Daily / Weekly Cx Management report out Meetings
* Whiteboard Meetings/Daily Activity Briefings (DABS)
* Partake in collaborative planning sessions & Map day’s
* Lookahead planning
* Integration Planning
* Risk Planning
* Energisation and Safety Briefings
* Sub-Contract/Vendor Package Meetings
* Shall attend FWT (Factory Witness testing) by requirement.
* The Cx Manager shall coordinate all aspects of the Cx planning and deliverables in line with the contract requirements and ensure that the owners representatives’ requirements and feedback are taken full into account prior to any final planning and instruction.
* The Cx Manager shall consider the commercial aspect of any/all planning and decisions Cx Related on the project. Support available by Commercial onsite Manager. A change log shall be managed as used as a communication tool to coordinate weekly with the project commercial manager.
Essential Criteria For The Role
* Degree in Engineering and at least 5 years’ experience in a commissioning manager role on large scale industrial projects. Or demonstrable equivalent experience.
* Applicants must have extensive Commissioning knowledge of the typical Mechanical and Electrical systems associated with Data Centres.
* A thorough understanding of building regulation and European standards, codes and practices.
* The ability to manage and execute a full IST and previous experience in the past is essential.
* The development of all required IST documentation and to manage the completion of same on a digital platform.
* Excellent organisational skills and be effective at prioritising tasks in order to achieve project deadlines and budgets.
* Excellent communication skills at all levels and the ability to report to the management team and client.
* Ability to produce detailed reports, presentations and assignments regularly and to an extremely high standard.
* Proficient at Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Adobe Acrobat.
* Manage and deal successfully with all client and contractor vendors to ensure specifications are adhered to and all plant/equipment is commissioned on time and in line with the tagging /commissioning process.
* Ability to delegate successfully and to know when and who to delegate to.
