Accounting Policy Role
This carrier, recently capitalized by a large asset manager, is seeking an Accounting Policy professional to strengthen its liability-side accounting function. With regulatory emphasis and heightened interaction between insurance executives and private equity backers, the organization needs a professional who can interpret GAAP/STAT requirements, advise on M&A and reinsurance transactions, and embed sound policy practices across the finance team. The role is highly visible, interfacing with senior leadership, auditors, and external stakeholders.
The client operates across multiple U.S. locations and is committed to building a forward-looking finance function.
Responsibilities:
* Lead technical research, analysis, and documentation of accounting standards, primarily for M&A, reinsurance, and other liability-driven transactions.
* Interpret U.S. GAAP and Statutory Accounting requirements and advise on related matters across functions such as Corporate Accounting, Actuarial, and Legal.
* Present findings to senior executives and contribute to policy development; provide leadership through project ownership and cross-team collaboration.
Qualifications:
* Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and Statutory Accounting.
* Experience working across Corporate Accounting, Actuarial, and Legal functions.
* Ability to present findings to senior executives and influence policy development.
* CPA designation is required.
