CAA Eleven is UEFA’s exclusive marketing agency, responsible for the global commercial exploitation of media, sponsorship and licensing rights across UEFA’s National Team Football men’s and women’s competitions, including UEFA EURO™, the UEFA Nations League, the UEFA Nations League Finals, the UEFA Women’s EURO, the UEFA European Under-21 Championship and the UEFA Futsal EURO.
Based in Nyon, Switzerland, CAA Eleven is the Swiss subsidiary of Creative Artists Agency (CAA), one of the world’s leading sports and entertainment agencies.
This is a rare opportunity for a high-calibre junior lawyer to move in-house and work on some of the most valuable and high-profile media and commercial rights matters in global sport.
The Role
We are seeking a Junior Legal Counsel to join our Legal & Business Affairs team. The successful candidate will support the provision of legal advice and commercial guidance to the media, sponsorship and licensing sales teams in relation to UEFA’s National Team Football competitions.
The Junior Legal Counsel will report to the Executive Vice President, Head of Legal & Business Affairs, and will join a team of five experienced in-house lawyers.
The position is based in Nyon, Switzerland and may require reasonable international travel, particularly during sales cycles and major tournament periods.
Key Responsibilities
* Draft, review and negotiate complex international commercial agreements relating to media, sponsorship and licensing rights.
* Provide legal advice on a wide range of matters relating to the sale of UEFA’s rights and to CAA Eleven’s sales and account management departments.
* Advise on sales processes and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
* Monitor legal developments in key territories and provide commercially pragmatic solutions.
* Support the development and maintenance of precedent agreements and legal templates.
* Provide operational legal support during major UEFA tournaments and live broadcast periods.
* Build strong business relationships with UEFA and other stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
* Qualified lawyer. Either a newly qualified lawyer or a lawyer with up to approximately three years’ post-qualification experience (applications from candidates with equivalent relevant experience will be considered).
* Swiss law experience (including Swiss bar admission) is beneficial but not required.
* Experience at a leading international law firm or recognised sports/media practice is highly desirable.
* Background in commercial contracts, media, IP, sports law or competition law preferred.
* Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential. Additional languages are advantageous but not essential.
* Strong drafting and negotiation skills in English.
* Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.

* Multicultural awareness and the ability to operate effectively in an international environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
