Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced and motivated R&D Team Manager to lead our Next Generation Grids Transformer team in Geneva, Switzerland.
How you’ll make an impact Lead, develop, and motivate an international R&D team of 5+ engineers with know‑how in medium frequency transformers, power converters and lab testing.
Provide technical leadership and support the team in solving complex engineering challenges.
Contribute to R&D strategy and technology direction, including development of roadmaps for the New Generation Grids Transformers product line.
Plan, drive, and deliver R&D projects, ensuring alignment with scope, timelines, and quality targets.
Collaborate closely with global R&D teams, engineering functions, and external partners.
Manage project resources and budgets to maximize impact and operational efficiency.
Take responsibility for the R&D laboratory and infrastructure, including driving expansion plans.
Introduce and implement new tools, technologies, and processes to improve performance.
Your background Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Several years of industrial experience in product development, or technology management.
Strong technical background in transformers and power converters.
Proven experience in project management within R&D or product development.
Experience in leading technical teams (line or project leadership) and working in international and cross‑functional environments.
Strong communication skills in English (French is a plus) and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
