THE ROLE
We are seeking a legal counsel for a multinational bank in Switzerland. The Legal Counsel will support the migration and redocumentation of commodity trade finance agreements in the context of strategic and structural transformations within the bank. The successful candidate will coordinate with external counsel, oversee client notifications, and manage various legal and administrative tasks related to documentation and transaction support. Proficiency in French is essential for this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Lead the migration and redocumentation of bespoke commodity trade finance contracts across multiple jurisdictions.
2. Manage non-standardized agreements and legacy documentation with a focus on legal accuracy and compliance.
3. Coordinate with external counsel regarding the registration and deregistration of securities in foreign jurisdictions.
4. Oversee client notifications, contract terminations, and ensure all legal documentation is properly executed and archived.
5. Organize, classify, and maintain large volumes of legal documents and data efficiently.
6. Handle concurrent legal and administrative tasks with precision and accountability.
YOUR PROFILE
7. Proven legal experience in general banking, with a strong understanding of bilateral financing, security-taking, and commodities.
8. Proficient in contract review, negotiation, and end-to-end management of legal documentation processes.
9. Advanced proficiency in Excel for data management and reporting purposes.
10. Excellent organizational capabilities and attention to detail.
11. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively across teams and jurisdictions.
12. Willingness to travel frequently if not based in Geneva.
