We are looking for a mid-experienced Electrical Engineer (f/m/d) to design and document electrical systems and control cabinets. The role involves working extensively with EPLAN Electric P8 and EPLAN eBuild, participating in both the development of new portfolio solutions and of project specific configurations, ensuring that compliance with applicable international standards, safety regulations, and customer-specific requirements.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Select electrical components (electronics, PLC components, safety devices, power supplies, circuit protection components), perform cabinet layout, heat dissipation considerations, and cable routing optimization
Generate manufacturing-ready documentation for control cabinet assembly and wiring, design electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, terminal plans, and electrical BOMs; define wiring standards, labeling, and identification systems
Develop standardized and rule-based electrical designs
Create modular electrical architectures for product families
Ensure machine electrical design complies with the relevant standards
Collaborate with mechanical engineering, software/PLC engineering, and production teams for the development of new products and the design optimization of current portfolio products
Collaborate with application engineers and project managers for the development of project specific adaptations and definition of “out-of-portfolio” solution
YOUR PROFILE
Successfully completed education as Elektrotechniker HF, Electrical Engineer, oder Automation Engineer (FH BSc/MSc) or equivalent
Around 5 years proven experience in electrical design for control cabinets and industrial machinery
Hands‑on experience with CAE tools, in particular EPLAN Electric P8 (schematics, macros, device management)
Understanding of structured, modular, and standardized design approaches
Familiarity with the following regulations and standards:

Structured working methodology and structured approach to tasks
Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and promote cooperation at the interface with other engineering disciplines
Willingness to take over responsibility in the context of technical developments
Good written and spoken English and German
Availability for travelling up to 10% of the working time
Nice to have
Previous experience in marine project and marine certification (IACS tests, type approval of marine products)
Previous experience with EPLAN eBuild (Templates and/or Designer)
