The WASH Learning Lab develops and manages global, regional and local education programs in close collaboration with Sandec’s research groups and partners in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. In this role, you will contribute to the further development of our global and practically test and validate educational innovation. Finding the right balance between AI-driven tools and human expertise will be central to your work.
Responsibilities :
* Contribute to the further development of the WASH MOOC-series, including course updates, enhancing overall learner experience, and increasing reach and inclusiveness
* Lead the testing and validation of an educational innovation in the WASH sector
* Contribute to WASH education projects co-developed with partners (universities, ministries, NGO’s) in Africa, Asia, and Latin America
Candidates for this position should have the following qualifications :
* Experience in instructional design, including the use of learning management systems and the creation of engaging learning materials is required. Experience with video production is a plus
* Demonstrated interest and ability to apply Artificial Intelligence in education
* Solid pedagogical skills, including the ability to design learner-centered experiences and translate complex topics into accessible content.
* Working experience in the WASH sector or familiarity with the research topics of Sandec
* Fluency in English is required, knowledge of other languages (French, Spanish, or others) is a plus
* Excellent project management and teamwork skills; solution-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate across disciplines

Position details Timeline : Earliest starting date is 1 August 2025.Duration : Current funding runs until 31 December 2026, with possibility of extension.Location : This position is based at Eawag in Dübendorf, Switzerland, with intermittent international travel.
