The Team Leader Crew Planning Unit at Zimex Aviation is a hybrid leadership and operational role, ideal for a proactive aviation professional who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment. This position combines team leadership with direct involvement in crew scheduling and training coordination. Team Leader Crew Planning Unit
Your main tasks
1. Lead and support the Crew Planning team in day-to-day operations, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
2. Act as a role model by actively participating in crew scheduling and training coordination tasks.
3. Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to team members.
4. Ensure effective task distribution and workload balancing within the team.
5. Develop, maintain, and optimize crew rosters in compliance with regulatory and operational requirements.
6. Monitor crew availability, qualifications, and legal limitations to ensure seamless flight operations.
7. Resolve complex scheduling issues and ensure timely communication with crew members and stakeholders.
8. Coordinate and track crew training activities, ensuring all certifications and qualifications are up to date.
9. Liaise with training providers and internal departments to align training schedules with operational needs.
10. Maintain accurate training records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
11. Identify and implement improvements in planning and training processes to enhance efficiency and service quality.
12. Analyse operational data to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
13. Prepare reports and documentation for internal and external audits, performance reviews, and compliance tracking.
14. Serve as the primary point of contact for crew planning matters within the organization and represent the CPU in cross-functional meetings and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.
Your qualifications
15. Extensive experience in crew planning, aviation operations, or a comparable scheduling/coordination environment, with a strong understanding of how planning, crew control, travel logistics, and training coordination interconnect.
16. Previous leadership experience (e.g., team lead or senior coordinator) in an operational or planning environment is a strong advantage, especially with exposure to cross-functional team management in fast-paced settings.
17. Solid understanding of aviation regulations (e.g., EASA, ICAO, Subpart Q) and crew scheduling principles.
18. Proficiency in scheduling tools (e.g. CBL, Leon) and Microsoft Office; experience with LMS is a plus.
19. Working knowledge of Fatigue Risk Management Systems (FRMS) and their operational impact across planning, rostering, and compliance.
20. Strategic mindset with the ability to align processes within and across departments, optimize workflows, and foster effective collaboration between Crew Planning, Crew Control, Travel Management, and Training Coordination.
21. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
22. Proficiency in English; German or French is a strong advantage
