Overview
As a Data Analytics Engineer, you\'ll be building pipelines, designing data models, and boosting the company\'s analytics capability. You\'ll use your SQL skills and knowledge of different business areas to deliver clean, well-defined data.
You will be an active enabler in the evolution of organisational domain support processes by working closely with stakeholders, data analysts and other data engineers within On’s transformation program.
Your Mission
As On is growing, so are our data needs. Here, you\'ll play an important role in shaping the data roadmap while optimizing existing and new data products. You will collaborate closely with fellow data engineers as well as data analysts in the organisation domains to develop our Data Products further.
What your first 6 months at On might look like
1. 1 month: Get to know the data landscape and introduce yourself to various teams you will be interacting with. Pick up and resolve your first change request.
2. 3 months: Introduce a new data source or feature to our codebase. Publish a well-documented, valuable data product. Participate in code reviews ensuring that our code is functional, compliant, and performant. Take part in a team initiative or a wider technology strategic initiative, providing support where data engineering expertise is required and impactful.
3. 6 months: Organise and conduct repeating stakeholder forums to support domain data requirements. Act as a subject matter expert in a business function\’s data engineering efforts. Lead a strategic initiative, defining solutions that leverage our central data platform and empower those who utilise it.
Your story
* You have a working knowledge of data warehousing, data modeling and ELT concepts, and are proficient in compiling SQL.
* You obtained programming skills in Python or equivalent
* You have experience working with data infrastructure, APIs, data pipelines, observability and workflow orchestration in distributed cloud environments.
* You have experience with software engineering concepts including: version control, testing, debugging, research, technical problem solving.
* You have excellent communication skills.
* You enjoy translating business requirements into data solutions.
* You are comfortable managing multiple concurrent tasks and have the capacity and willingness to completely own their lifecycle with minimal oversight.
* You prefer to work in a team than to work alone.
* You are comfortable with ambiguity.
About the Team
The data enablement team is responsible for building, maintaining and growing internal data platforms, data products and processes that empower everyone at On to impact business outcomes by making informed decisions. The team sits within the wider Data & AI department at On.
You will be joining a team of data & analytics engineers who take care of the company\’s data platform needs across most of the organization. We are working in smaller workstreams of data engineers, data analysts and stakeholders to deliver valuable data products for the company.
Just by the banks of the Limmat you\'ll find our largest global hub in Zürich West – On Labs – where you can hike up 12 floors through our custom-built spiral trail.
