Overview
The Marketing Technologies (MarTech) Business Operations Manager is a critical role within the GPS Advanced Analytics for Business Insights (AABI) function. You will ensure that our technology investments translate into tangible business performance by overseeing a business readiness framework, designing governance and operational structures that enable teams to capitalize on new tools without disrupting core performance. You are the custodian of the "run state," responsible for ensuring that the business outcomes and growth are enhanced through the effective use of technology. Your primary focus is the continuous evolution of our business processes, delivering measurable improvements in speed‑to‑market, cost‑to‑serve, and overall organisational productivity.
Responsibilities
* Implement changes and manage the service model to ensure long‑term operational success and sustainability of our business platforms.
* Support the Business Operations Lead in managing the entire transition from project‑led implementation to a stable, continuous, high‑performing "business as usual" (BAU) state.
* Audit existing business workflows to identify inefficiencies; lead the design and implementation of "to‑be" processes that maximise the value of our technology stack while simplifying user experience.
* Implement the run‑state governance required to manage ongoing business process changes.
* Ensure that any future technical iterations are prioritised based on their ability to deliver business value and organisational stability.
* Partner with end users to assess how technical shifts impact the user and operational layers of the business, ensuring that resource allocation is optimised for new ways of working and relevant services are resourced and trained appropriately.
* Identify gaps in the operational model that translate into missed or lost value realisation and propose tactics to capitalise on missed opportunities.
* Operationalise the run‑state governance framework for managing ongoing business process, solution, data and user changes after go‑live.
* Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to process speed, cost‑to‑serve, and operational friction, driving a culture of continuous improvement.
* Manage stakeholder alignment (with vendors, RDT/IT, and business) to ensure all transition plans and the future "run" model are co‑created and fully supported.
Success in this Role
Success requires a highly structured, process‑oriented leader who can translate a strategic vision into a stable, reliable, and continuously improving operational reality. You will be the steady hand that ensures programmes become operationally sound and perform at a high level.
Qualifications and Experience
* 3+ years of experience in Business Operations or Service Delivery in a large‑scale, global environment.
* 5+ years of experience in the commercial function of pharmaceutical/biotechnology or a closely related, regulated industry.
* Proven, hands‑on experience within large transformation programmes and managing complex "project‑to‑operations" transitions, including go‑live readiness, cutover, and hypercare management.
* 3+ years of direct people leadership or 10+ years of matrix leadership of distributed teams.
* A pragmatic and process‑driven run‑state mindset with a passion for continuous improvement, stability, and operational excellence.
* A highly collaborative leader with proven ability to partner effectively with deployment, RDT/IT, and senior business stakeholders to ensure seamless solution operations.
* VACC mindset and an openness to Roche's new ways of working.
* University degree in Business or a related field; an MBA or ITIL certification is a plus.
* Ability to travel globally as needed (10‑15%).
