Job Summary
For our client located in Basel, we are looking for an Animal Caretaker.
The resource will be part of the team operating within the structure and will be responsible for tasks related to laboratory management:
* Care and maintenance of laboratory rodents (mice and rats) in IVC systems.
* Maintain IVC systems and changing stations, including changing pre-filters and setting up/decommissioning cage racks.
* Clean and disinfect animal housing facilities and cage materials independently.
* Document cage and animal data in the dedicated database.
* Assist research groups with tasks such as weight collection, selection, marking, and euthanasia.
Long Description
* Support veterinary services, including medication administration.
* Adhere to hygiene concepts and animal welfare legislation.
* Handle animal deliveries and inter-building transfers.
* Follow hygiene regulations and SOPs.
* Support the RLT (radio ligand therapy) facility, working with radioactive compounds.
Job Qualifications
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Completed EFZ animal care apprenticeship or equivalent; LTK1 certificate required.
* Proficiency in German (preferred) or English is mandatory.
* Local candidates preferred.
* Full-time position.
