Our client, a leading international player in the financial sector with modern offices in the Basel area, is looking for a Junior Purchasing Officer (100%) for a temporary assignment of 6 months, starting ASAP. The role offers a 50 / 50 hybrid working model.
1. Processing low-risk purchase requisitions, especially for purchases under preferred supplier agreements or for low-value items.
2. Providing procurement support through a central helpdesk: monitoring and managing the shared mailbox, handling basic inquiries, resolving standard issues, and escalating complex cases to Sourcing Specialists or Purchasing Officers.
3. Maintaining and updating ERP data to ensure purchasing accuracy: reassigning contracts or purchase orders, updating delivery dates, mass closing obsolete POs, and documenting processes for continuous improvement.
4. Supporting compliance with procurement policies and identifying opportunities for system automation.
5. Collaborating with internal stakeholders for efficient purchasing operations.
**Qualifications and Skills:**
* Basic understanding of procurement processes, particularly purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
* Strong service orientation and effective communication skills.
* Proficient with IT systems and digital tools.
* Solid written and spoken English and German skills (minimum B1 level).
**Preferred Qualifications and Experience:**
* Experience with ERP systems and invoice processing tools (e.g., Oracle Fusion, SAP).
* Familiarity with handling low-risk and low-value purchases within preferred supplier agreements.
