Robeco’s SI Research team is recruiting a full-time (80-100%) junior analyst. The team of 17 analysts (in Zurich, Rotterdam, London & Singapore) is a mainly internally focused research function with the ultimate goal of contributing to better investment performance across Robeco’s fundamental equity and credit strategies. SI Research analysts are sector specialists researching and evaluating the impact of ESG issues on companies’ risk profile and future growth and profitability. SI analysts work closely with Robeco’s equity and credit analysts to integrate their views into investment cases and credit profiles, as well as with Robeco’s SI Center of Expertise to inform and enhance SI frameworks.
Position & Requirements
The Junior SI analyst role will initially have a focus on our research process and ESG integration across sectors, working on the ESG analysis tools used by analysts and researching the financial impact of ESG factors. They will work with experienced analysts within the SI Research team to develop research skills and sector/ESG knowledge, with the intention of eventually specializing in a specific sector and/or topics.
Key tasks
* Contribute to further development of the internal ESG financial materiality tool
* Support SI research tools and process to improve functionality
* Work with senior analysts on analysis of material ESG factors e.g. estimating quantified financial impacts.
Possible career paths internally for an SI analyst include developing into an ESG sector specialist, or potentially into equity or credit research or an SI specialism. Pursuit of the CFA qualification or similar is encouraged.
Requirements
We look for junior analysts that have, or have the potential to develop, skills that make SI analysts at Robeco successful. For example:
* Knowledge and affinity for ESG topics and how they impact investment returns
* An understanding and interest in public equity and bond investing
* Clear written and verbal communication
* Good numerical and reasoning analytical skills, ideally with previous academic or work experience in research and data analysis (competency with statistical analysis tools is an advantage)
* Curiosity to pursue research as well as a practical and commercial mindset to focus on relevance
* Prioritization skills and a collaborative approach to work with variety of stakeholders
* Fluent in written and spoken English; German is an advantage.
