To capture customer needs, define and develop Battery Energy Storage solutions which meet and exceed customer expectations in the Energy Storage sector, we are adding to our Energy Management System (EMS) Team for the Stationary Storage Business unit, in Yverdon-les-Bains, Switzerland and we are looking for a:
Software Development Engineer (Contract, 12 months)
Role and responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the global engineering team to develop Energy Storage solutions.
* Work with global customers to define technical requirements.
* Write Technical documents as needed.
* Design, code, and test new device drivers according to hardware manufacturer specifications.
* Design, code, and test new desktop application features.
* Deploy software to customer site installations and provide on-site or remote support.
* Troubleshoot hardware/software issues over remote connections.
* Develop and test application features and configurations.
* Assist with development and execution of site-acceptance testing (SAT) for customers.
* Participate in customer site commissioning and ongoing support activities.
Skills and experience:
* Bachelor’s or higher education in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
* 5+ years of software development experience using C++ and JAVA.
* Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking principles.
* Previous Docker usage in development and as a deployment tool.
* Knowledge of cyber security.
* Experience with Modbus/TCP protocols.
* It’s a plus to have knowledge of Stationary energy storage applications (frequency response, power smoothing, voltage regulation, ISO dispatch, peak shaving, etc.).
* It’s a plus to have knowledge of Battery Management Systems BMS, Li-Ion Batteries, Inverters, AC Power Systems, Microgrid, Closed loop control.
* Initiative and Adaptability: Identifies problems and finds solutions in a creative manner. Demonstrates flexibility to changing conditions and/or environment.
* Teamwork: Works cooperatively with others and is part of a team.
* Customer Focus: Acts with the customer in mind. Is responsive to the needs and opinions of others.
Languages
Good level of English (spoken and written). Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
Travel
Up to 20% domestic and international travel.
